wedding earrings...

OOO... Look at these puppies! 14K Yellow gold with 1/3 carat princess cut champagne diamonds...

But the cool part is that they are actully multiple pieces of jewelry in one!

ie... Simple Oblong Hoops...

A couple of diamond pendants...

But I wanted to show you how cute they are on... so I put them on me! And because I hate having my photo taken, so I'm hiding behind the camera! hehehe

just plugging along...

That's pretty much my answer for everything now-a-days... just plugging along.

I have been carving waxes like crazy... but I did find a little time to finish this up.

This shaker pendant has shards of an amethyst that used to live in the client's ring... but was too scratched to reset. So... I smashed it!

The client likes purples, blues and greens. Along with the amethyst, there are shards of cylon sapphire (which was broken a while ago), appetite beads, iolite beads, round faceted rhodolite garnet, green tourmaline beads, round faceted emeralds, round faceted tsavorite garnets AND a few little diamonds for good measure!!!

And if the client happens to see it... don't tell your husband that you saw your birthday gift here first! (even tho you did order it and told him to buy it for you!!! hehehe)

just call me Super G...

So... my buddy Paul always knows how to make me feel better when I do something, well, stupid. Thanks Paul (Imagine that with a sarcastic tone, and now I'm sticking my tongue out!)

Hehehe!

i actually glued my fingers together... no joke.

Today was one of those days where I was all over the map... carving some waxes for wedding bands, finishing couple of pendants, etc.

Well, I had to super glue something today. I know, super glue is not something a high end jeweler uses... but it does serve a purpose sometimes!!! Well, it was a different kind of tube than I usually get. The directions explained that when you screw the tip on, it would break the foil, e voila, the super glue flow beings! Okay... sounds simple enough. BUT it does not warn you that if you cross thread the tip and the tube, the foil will rip AND THE SUPER GLUE WILL RUN ALL OVER EVERYTHING!

And before I knew it, my fingers were all glued together. Hahaha!

So... if this happens to you, plan on soaking your hands in nail polish remover (has to be the original kind with acetone) for around an hour.

I know you are laughing you a$$ off! Thanks! Hehehe... okay, it is kinda funny... but just a little!

Anyway... I did finish a few things today.

You remeber the Calla Lily Pendant??? Let's refresh your memory...

Well, this is the baby version. 14K yellow gold, with an orange sapphire briolette. Very very sweet!

Lattice work band...

I have been going back and forth with a client about anniversary bands (there are a few designs a couple entries back.)

He was aiming for something that would meet up to his wife's engagement ring... but after much deliberation, he decided that this was the design he wanted... even if it couldn't match up to her current ring. So, this will live on her middle finger.

I'm just waiting to find out what the final finish will be...

1. Smooth and high polished (contemporary style)

2. Milgrain finish (little rows of beads... antique style)

3. Micro Pave (coated in tiny diamonds... the bling style)

Keep you posted!

Simpsonize Me!

Okay, Okay... I know... this is a jewelry blog. But I have to share!

I was winding up my evening working on the computer and I saw the Simpson's Burger King commerical... so I thought I said to myself 'Self, what the hell... Let's Simpsonize me!'

So... this is what I would look like if I lived in Springfield...

Hmmm... let's put me in a good situation...

Ahhhh... that's more like it! OOO! What would Sal look like if he was there???

Hmmmm... where should we put him???

Yes... I did put him in front of the Kwik-E-Mart... hehehe... don't hate me Sal!

But I have to laugh, once you are finished making yourself into a 2d yellow creature... YOU CAN PURCHASE YOUR MUG ON A MUG! Yes... they will sell you coffe mugs, aprons, etc., with your 2d photo on it! Hahaha!

Anyway... on a side note... I did catch the Simpson's movie this past week... some parts were soooooo funny... some was meh... BUT overall, it was worth it. I just wish they brought people like Conan O'Brian to do a little writing.

Okay... enough playing... off to bed!

moving right along!

this client's wedding band has a very subtle concave surface... it is CRAZY because the finish is like a mirror and reminds me when you look at your reflection in a spoon :) now, his fiance's ring won't match (her's is all covered in diamonds, very traditional and girly... she got it at Long's) so we decided that it would be nice for something to match.

he planed to have a very basic pendant fabricated for her out of the pear shaped diamond that his father gave his mother, something that she could wear day/evening. so, the simple answer was to design the profile of the bezel to match the profile of his ring.

e voila!

like i promised!

i promised to show you completed pieces... and i'm sticking to that promise!

i couldn't post this engagement ring as i was working on it, because the client's girlfriend (now fiance, as of saturday night... CONGRATS!) knew my blog address.

it's platinum with a very very nice radiant cut 1.16 carat diamond in a half bezel, flush set vs diamonds on the sides. and the sweet little addition is a ruby set on the INSIDE of the ring shank. the ruby is his birth stone, and that way it won't have to be seen by others, but always close to her. AWWWWW... how sweet!

well... here it is! what do you think???

anniversary band sketches

Hey... just working on a bunch of sketches for an anniversary band.

I promise to have some actual photos of finished jewelry by the middle of next week! I've just had so much stuff going on, I haven't had a chance to sit at the bench! But all of that changes next week... it's all bench all the time! hehehe

the big weenie!

Okay... so this is what I've been doing for the past couple of days. It's been fun, but I'm glad I have a massage gift certificate... my neck is killing me.

This is what they call the dog pound... it has a low kiddie height counter and flat screen for them to watch movies.

Here are a couple close-ups (yup... that's my Scooter!)

Then I did my little 'Let's all go to the Lobby' dancing snacks in the hall... leading you back to the order counter...

Then I took care of the doors... the office (Top Dog), and the rest rooms. As you see... the words are at adult hight, and a picture of a boy/girl is at kiddie height.

And there you go! Well, back to jewelry and jewelry designs tomorrow!!!
