dragon fly spoon
I just finished a sterling silver baby spoon. It has a very sweet dragon fly pattern cut out, with room for an engraved monogram once the baby is born. Maybe I'll take more photos once the engraving is done.

something to think about...
Just so you know, I'm still in the weeds. I promise there will be final photo of pieces, but till then you'll just have to cut me some slack.
But I had an interesting meeting with a client the other day. They're planning their wedding... and they have one month to do it! Insanity, I know... but good for them!!! Well, when they decided to go forward, I was the first person they called. Even BEFORE her mother.
And when I saw them on Friday, I was caught up in a flurry of hugs and kisses. Seriously, how often do you hug your jeweler? I really think that 90-95% of my clients hug me... is that odd? Well, I don't care if it is... I love it!
Okay... back to work!

soon...
Soon there will be images of lots of finished jewelry. But until then, I need all the time possible to finish everything. So I promise there will be posts, but just be patient while I'm in the weeds.
Thanks!
Thanks!

bombarded...
Usually, July is my slow month. It's usually the time that I can start brainstorming on holiday pieces (aka, spend time on the beach.) But I have gotten bombarded with orders... all of which is due around of July or the beginning of August.
The newest job is for wedding bands... the wedding is in August. We're literally just starting the process. So, we tossed around the idea of simple hand engraved Deco style wedding bands. Possibly the woman's band may be more complex while the man's is a simplified version. Who knows... no clue yet!
But I thought I would toss on a few very quick sketches to show you different directions I'm thinking of.
It's been difficult the past couple weeks updating the blog due to (1) my computer being in the shop and (2) most jewelers take off 1-4 weeks in July. And due to most of the Jewelers Building being closed, I wasn't able to get much accomplished.
But over the next couple of weeks you're going to see a bunch of completed jobs!

cufflink wax
Okay... the computer is back from the Apple Store. They had to replace my Logic Board (which is their fancy name for a mother board) and the Inverter Board and Cable (I think it does something with the display.) So, we can post again!
Today I was working on the wax for a pair of cufflinks. They are to match this wedding band...
So I transferred the pattern on the profile of the ring to the flat front of the cufflink. Also... I am making them how I like to make all cuff links, with a solid bar in the center. Some cufflinks have the part that swivels... well, I don't like that part. It loosens easily or breaks. And they come pre-fabricated and you just solder them on, but they always come plated (even silver) and I don't want to plate the entire piece.
The final cufflinks will be about the size of a nickel and made out of Sterling Silver.
